The two Man Utd teammates went head-to-head as England faced Denmark in the European Championship.

Rasmus Hojlund saw the funny side of things after he helped Denmark secure a deserved point against England in their second match of Euro 2024.

The Manchester United striker lead the line for his country on Thursday evening as a goal from Morten Hjulmand cancelled out Harry Kane's opener to secure a 1-1 draw in Group C.

Hojlund was not the only United player involved in the match, with teammate Christian Eriksen also starting for Denmark, however history was made with the absence of any United players in the England side.

England's draw with Denmark was the first time since the Euro 96 semi-final defeat against Germany that the Three Lions played at a major tournament without a United player on the pitch.

Luke Shaw is still sidelined through injury, while youngster Kobbie Mainoo was overlooked by manager Gareth Southgate when he looked to bench to change things up in the second-half.

After the match, Hojlund took to social media to react to the draw and he clearly saw the funny side of taking a point from his United teammates ahead of their reunion in pre-season next month. He posted on Instagram: “At least it won’t get awkward with Kobbie next training.”

It remains to be seen who will have the last laugh, as both sides head into the final group game still in need of a result to secure qualification to the knockout rounds. Denmark face Serbia in their final match, while England take on Slovenia.
