Man Utd are looking to renew a number of contracts ahead of the summer transfer window officially opening.

Manchester United have confirmed they are in talks with four players over potential new contracts at the club.

United released their retained list on Wednesday and confirmed that seven players would be leaving the club when their contracts expire this summer, while another four could be handed new terms.

Veteran duo Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans are two of those who are in discussions over possible contract extensions, while academy graduates Omari Forson and Shola Shoretire are both also being offered deals.

Heaton has made just three competitive appearances since he joined United as a free agent three years ago, while Evans made 30 appearances across all competitions, having initially been invited back to his former club as he looked to keep his fitness levels up following his release by Leicester a year ago.

United are pleased with the contributions the two experienced players have made over the past season, but their futures at the club could depend on the outcome of the managerial decision that is yet to be made. Erik ten Hag's position is still unclear amid the ongoing end-of-season review and they might wish for clarity on who the manager will be next season before committing to a decision themselves.

It is understood United will leave their final offer on the table for Forson until his current deal expires on 30 June, though there is now an expectation that he will leave once it expires.

Shoretire has also been offered a contract extension as he approaches the end of his deal, but this is believed to be in order to protect his transfer valuation ahead of a pivotal summer window in which the club are targeting a record level of player sales.
