PSG make Marcus Rashford transfer decision as Liverpool 'join race' for £55m Manchester United target

Your round-up of the latest Man Utd stories following Saturday’s disappointing draw against Burnley.

Manchester United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League were ended on Saturday after Erik ten Hag’s men drew 1-1 at home to relegation-threatened Burnley. The Reds looked to have won it late through Antony at Old Trafford but a mistake from Andre Onana handed the away side a penalty which Zeki Amdouni converted.

Ten Hag’s side are now 13 points off Aston Villa in fourth, with only 12 left to play for. United go to Crystal Palace on Monday evening and in the meantime, ManchesterWorld has rounded up some of the latest stories ahead of what looks set to be a busy summer.

Rashford decision

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to have cooled interest in Marcus Rashford ahead of the summer. The i reports that they will actively pursue other targets in the wake of Kylian Mbappe’s planned exit as a free agent.

PSG are long-time admirers of Rashford and even met with his agent and brother last summer, but the forward opted instead to pen a new deal at Old Trafford. This season has not gone to plan, however, and the 26-year-old has been way off the pace with just seven Premier League goals.

Those in charge at Old Trafford are thought to be keen on keeping Rashford and that is now looking increasingly likely, with the England international not on the shortlist of players to replace Mbappe in Paris. It is thought that a substantial offer would be seriously considered, however.

Guehi race

Liverpool are the latest side to be linked with a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. Football Insider reports that the Anfield club will battle it out with United, Newcastle and Arsenal for the 23-year-old.

Guehi has developed into one of the Premier League’s best young centre-backs since leaving Chelsea for Palace in 2021, with regular football earning him a consistent spot in the England squad. The defender is expected to leave Selhurst Park this summer.

Palace will demand around £55m for Guehi, who will still have two years remaining on his contract come summer. But there is an understanding that the defender is ready for another shot at the top of European football.
