Man Utd are still looking to sell forward Mason Greenwood in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United could welcome Mason Greenwood back for pre-season training if he is not sold within the next two weeks.

United are still operating under the assumption the 22-year-old will be sold this summer, though it remains to be seen whether or not a deal will be agreed before players return for the start of pre-season training next month.

Erik ten Hag's side are due to report for training at the club's Carrington training complex from July 8, though a number of high-profile players will be absent due to their international commitments. United are set to give every player involved in the European Championship and Copa America a minimum of three weeks off this summer.

If Greenwood is still a United player by the start date, he would be eligible to report back for pre-season training with the rest of the squad, though there is no guarantee that he would.

A return to the club's training complex could bring heavy criticism United's away given the sensitivity surrounding Greenwood, but he would be entitled to begin his pre-season training programme.

United considered reintegrating the forward back into the squad last year after charges of attempted rape, controlling, coercive behaviour and assault were dropped in February 2023. However, after fan protests and social media backlash it was ultimately decided to send Greenwood on loan.

Greenwood last played for United in January 2022 and his proposed sale this summer would be a significant boost to the club's finance, as any fee for the academy graduate would count as pure profit under the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
