Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost ahead of their trip to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League next week.

Erik ten Hag's side are back in action when they travel to Selhurst Park on Bank Holiday Monday and there is some positive fitness news ahead of the clash.

Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial both returned to team training on Thursday morning are in contention to be involved in the clash with Crystal Palace.

Evans has not featured for United since he was taken off in the second-half of their 4-3 defeat to Chelsea last month, while Martial hasn't featured in a matchday squad since the 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth last December.

The duo are both out of contract at the end of the season and while Martial is set to leave the club as a free agent in the summer, it is unclear what the future holds for Evans. The Northern Irish defender has proven to be reliable back-up for United across the campaign and though he doesn't have an obvious long-term role to play at the club, he would still be considered a valuable squad player to keep.

Speaking last week, Ten Hag confirmed Martial would be available again before the end of the season and also suggested Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez would return to team training soon.

When asked about the fitness of Shaw, Martinez and Martial last week, Ten Hag told reporters: “I think we will see them all in the season,” the manager said. “They [have] all returned onto the pitch. Next week, they have to make the step into team training and they can be available for the last weeks. They progress well.”
