All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Manchester United as they prepare for next season.

Manchester United will already be hard at work preparing for next season as the Euros continue to dominate the limelight. Having kept Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils know they are going to have to back the Dutchman again in the transfer window, and there are holes that need filling in the squad, something that became obvious with the injuries that arose last season.

And while big deals are likely to wait until after the Euros and Copa America, or at least towards the end of those competitions, early talks will already be taking place between clubs. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Branthwaite ‘latest’

United are said to be weighing up whether to make a new bid for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has tweeted: “Manchester United discussing whether to go back in for defender Jarrad Branthwaite. It's understood if Everton don't reduce asking price, United will move onto other targets. Those include Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, Lille's Leny Yoro and Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.” Everton will reportedly demand as much as £70million for their star centre-back, but the Red Devils are not likely to pay that fee, and maybe not even close to it.

Asked about transfer links previously, Branthwaite has said: “You have just got to block it all out. I think if you focus on the outside stuff, you get distracted from what you need to do on the pitch. For me now, until the end of the season, I am just focused on winning games for Everton Football Club."

Goalkeeper links

United are being linked with a surprise move for Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez. According to reporter Sacha Tavolieri, the Red Devils will make an offer to sign the keeper despite having both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir on their books.

It’s claimed a deal would cost United £12.5million, and it may point to a Bayindir departure. Martinez has previously told EuroFoot of his inspiration: “Goalkeeping inspiration? I’ve been looking at (Real Madrid legend Iker) Casillas. Then, I also liked De Gea a lot. My goal or my dream would be to play in the Champions League, and also to work very hard to try to get closer to the level of the goalkeepers who are in the national team.”

Ten Hag called out

Micah Richards has slammed United boss Ten Hag after the Dutchman described England’s Euro 2024 performance against Serbia as ‘passive’. “Glass houses, to start with,” Richards said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

“We basically had this conversational in the FA Cup final and now he’s being a pundit talking about how managers are playing in a negative fashion. When we talk about Man United and they’ve not had a good season because of where they’ve finished in the league, he bites at us! It’s ridiculous! We’ve backed him so many times, saying the way he’s been treated has not been great and now he’s talking about other managers, it’s a lack of respect. It’s a lack of respect.”
