Transfer news: Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with Lille defender

Lille president Olivier Létang has revealed that Manchester United & Liverpool ‘target’ Leny Yoro is free to leave this summer.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation in Ligue 1 this season, enjoying a stunning breakthrough campaign that has turned heads across the continent. Having played 44 times across all competitions, as well as managing three goals, Yoro has been a star.

And amid interest from United, Liverpool and Real Madrid, it could be an interesting summer for the in-demand teenager. Fabrizio Romano posted the comments on X: ‘Lille president Letang confirms: “Leny Yoro and Jonathan David can leave the club this summer”. Both have the ‘exit voucher’ due to their contract situation”.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports report: “Liverpool and Manchester United are actively pursuing a deal to sign Lille's teenage centre-back Leny Yoro, according to The Athletic. Real Madrid are viewed as favourites to sign the 18-year-old by Liverpool and Man Utd, the report claims, but both clubs are said to be pushing hard for the transfer.

“The Athletic adds that Yoro, one of the most promising young players in Europe, is viewed as a "unique market opportunity separate to other targets" by the Premier League sides. Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Yoro.”

One issue regarding signing the defender is that he is set to feature at the Olympics under Thierry Henry for France U23s. It means he will miss most of August and won’t be integrated into whichever side -if he were to move - until a month or two into the season.
