Four of Pep Guardiola’s title-winners were selected by Premier League supporters.

Four Manchester City players have been included in the 2023/24 Premier League Fan Team.

Unsurprisingly, no club have more players than City in the XI, which was voted for by supporters. Six categories were provided for fans to choose from, with 60 players among the nominees. Two players were available to choose from in the centre-back, full-back, midfielder, attacking midfielder and strikers categories, along with one goalkeeper.

Having been named as Premier League Player of the Season, Phil Foden always looked like a shoo-in and he was selected by fans in one of the two attacking midfield roles, along with former team-mate Cole Palmer. They were joined in midfield by Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne, despite the latter only making 15 starts this term and playing in less than half of the league matches.

The final City player selected was top scorer Erling Haaland. The striker netted 27 times in 2023/24, five more than second-placed Palmer. Ollie Watkins grabbed 19 for Aston Villa and also provided the most assists in the league, so he joins the Norwegian up front.

At the back, Arsenal’s miserly defence saw them take four of the back five roles. Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel were voted by fans, along with David Raya, who claimed more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper this season. The final player selected was Trent Alexander-Arnold, who strangely was named at left-back in the team.

Team in full: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Alexander-Arnold; Rodri, De Bruyne; Palmer, Foden; Haaland, Watkins.
