Fabrizio Romano has claimed Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have approached Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez concerning a possible summer transfer.
No-one made more appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side in 2023/24 than Alvarez’s 54 across seven competitions. But many of those came from the bench in the latter stages of the campaign, with the World Cup winner struggling to hold down a place in the starting XI following the returns from injury of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

Hide AdThat, it appears, has alerted the attention of several of Europe’s top sides. A report in Marca earlier this week claimed Atletico Madrid are interested in the City forward, with the operation ‘already underway’. The club’s Argentinian players are also said to be encouraging him to move to Madrid this summer, although no bid has yet been lodged.
Meanwhile, Romano stated on Wednesday night that PSG are also interested in the 24-year-old. “Several clubs have approached Julián Álvarez, not only Atlético Madrid but also Paris Saint-Germain showing interest,” the journalist turned influencer wrote on X.
“No proposals or negotiations yet but several clubs keen, also from England. Man City want to keep Julián, talks with his camp will follow about that.”
City’s stance on selling first-team players is clear and the club will not stand in a player’s way if an acceptable offer is presented, although losing such a versatile option would be a blow for Pep Guardiola, especially in a summer window when Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish could also depart.
