A record shop in Manchester has become the canvas for a new mural depicting Noel and Liam Gallagher. The shop is one that even gets a mention in an Oasis song.

In the latest example of Manchester paying tribute to the brothers, they have both been painted onto a record shop in the city. This is in the form of a new mural created by street artist Pic.One.Art

The record shop is one that has a connection with the band, and it’s one that features on ‘Definitely Maybe’. The mural has been painted to mark the 30th anniversary of the album's release.

The shop in question is Sifters record shop on Fog Lane in Didsbury. The line links back to band members buying albums from the second hand shop. On the song ‘Shakermaker, the lyrics go: “Mister Sifter sold me songs when I was just sixteen. Now he stops at traffic lights but only when they're green.”

In a post on social media, Pic.One.Art said: “30 years since the release of Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe. I couldn’t have thought of a more fitting location in Manchester. It’s a privilege to paint this mural of the Gallagher brothers in the surroundings of their formative years. Thanks to Pete aka Mister Sifter for welcoming the work on the wall of his legendary record store, in which Oasis pay tribute to in 'Shakermaker'. I'd also like to thank Oasis photographer @michaelspencerjones for trusting me to use this incredible and iconic image.”

Liam Gallagher is out on the road this month singing ‘Definitely Maybe’ in its entirety. He has several shows pencilled in at Co-op Live and played at the area on June 15 and 16, he returns on June 27 and 28.
