Zikel Bobmanuel: Second man arrested in Openshaw murder investigation

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Manchester dad Zikel Bobmanuel.
The 36-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody while waiting to be questioned by Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team.

Hide AdThis is the second arrest to be made in the case. Another man, 32-year-old Emannuel Onasanya of John Beeley Avenue in Manchester, has been charged with murder and was due to appear in court on 28 March.
The shooting took place on the afternoon of Saturday 25 March. Officers arrived at the scene at around 2pm and Zikel was pronounced dead at the scene from suspected gunshot wounds. In tributes from his family, Zikel was described as a “hands-on father to his beloved children” – the youngest of whom is just a few weeks old.
Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We have a team of detectives working round the clock to establish the circumstances leading up to Zikel’s death.
“Our inquiries are far from over and we are still appealing for information to help with our investigation, anyone can contact us with information regardless of how insignificant it may seem.
